On the Maximum Diversity Order of Wireless Relay Networks: Common Codebook Generation

This paper derives bounds on the maximum achievable diversity order of wireless relay networks that employ common codebook generation. When all terminals must correctly decode it is shown that the maximum achievable diversity order is constrained by the terminal with the minimum number of immediately preceding terminals. When only the destination terminal must correctly decode it is shown that the maximum achievable diversity order is constrained by the cut set with the minimum number of inter-terminal links.
